KAT MCBRIDE
DIRECTOR OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Kat McBride serves as Director of Learning and Development, overseeing Rialto Academy’s instructional design products and projects.
Kat earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Language and Literature from Baylor University, where she also taught rhetoric, composition, and research courses. After a five-year stint working in federal government, Kat returned to higher education to help Baylor move to a new Learning Management System, launch online courses in the College of Arts and Sciences, and aid in the instructional design of the Hankamer School of Business’ online MBA program. Seeking a change of pace, she moved into corporate learning design in 2018 and hasn’t looked back. In 2021, Kat won Training Magazine’s Emerging Training Leader award for her work on training events and developing new instructional designers at Keller Williams Realty International. Kat lives with her husband, two dogs, and two cats in Austin, where she prays the pets never realize they outnumber the humans.
