Coaching for Good: Seven Reasons Why Community Matters

Coaching is the ultimate investment in yourself. Get matched with the right coach and no one and nothing can get in your way. With the right coach, the investment has far greater return than any other financial strategy ambitious high achievers could ever hope to pursue.

But who is coaching your coach? Who is your coach in community with—and does it matter?

1.  Accountability

While a client’s accountability to their coach is key to all successful coaching relationships, at Rialto Academy we broaden the traditional bounds of accountability to incorporate accountability to each other, accountability to our clients, and accountability to the entire community.

As our clients face increasingly greater demands and competitive pressures, we stand beside them in our commitment to constantly raise our own game.

Our coaches understand that they are part of something greater than themselves. During weekly calls, we support each other’s challenges and we champion each other’s breakthroughs. Our genuine concern for the success of all clients in our community inspires us to constantly demand more of ourselves and each other. We understand that coaching skills are not static, and as our clients face increasingly greater demands and competitive pressures, we stand beside them in our commitment to constantly raise our own game.

2.  High Standards

Our clients are smart, high achievers with high standards, and as coaches, we expect nothing less of ourselves. We ask a lot of our clients—they’re capable of a lot and the kinds of goals they have set for themselves call for major leaps forward. At the same time, we believe that our validity as coaches is enhanced by our own commitments to setting and achieving big goals. Doing so alongside the clients who inspire us every day is a privilege that we do not take lightly.

3.  Collaboration

None of us is as smart as all of us.”

Kenneth H. Blanchard
Author
“The One-Minute Manager”

Within our collaborative community, we recognize that each of us has distinct gifts, talents, and strengths. We take to heart this Ken Blanchard wisdom: “None of us is as smart as all of us.” That’s why we regularly draw upon each other’s expertise. Sometimes this is a quick debrief. Sometimes this takes the form of a guest session by a coach who focuses on an important area, such as financial wizardry, operational systems, or recruiting top talent. It takes a coaching village to raise a client to new levels.

4.  Best Practices

Effective coaching is about a lot more than holding fellow sales professionals accountable to their goals. There are distinct best practices that drive success, including goal-setting, building habits, and tracking success. During our weekly calls, led by Les McGehee (our fearless president of Rialto Academy), best practices are shared, reviewed, explored, and played out.

5.  Coverage

If one member of our coaching community is unable to make a call, for whatever reason, we stand ready to fill in or provide coverage for each other. Coaches aren’t on an island—they’re swimming with a group of supportive peers.

6.  Solidarity

Solidarity is the word that best describes our community of Rialto Academy coaches. Coaching is a journey we have embarked on together—and we are passionate about the strength of our community as a force for transformation. As our clients cast off limiting beliefs and grow in a realization of what they are capable of, we lift each other up every step of the way. Between us, we’ve seen it all, heard it all, and overcome it all.

7.  Character

Ultimately, character is what binds our coaching community together. We are entrenched in the challenges that business professionals and entrepreneurs face. We know about the professional pitfalls, as well as the powerful possibilities. Like the clients we serve, we all get one shot at this life, and together, we are committed to calling on each other to be our best selves in service to the awesome clients whose journeys we are privileged to share.

We’d love to introduce you to our community of coaches! Whether you have your own company or are a part of a larger organization, Rialto Academy can be a great home for your productivity. Let’s get to know each other!
